Season review
The Mules blew preseason predictions to shreds in going undefeated and winning the Centennial Conference championship.

December 20: Muhlenberg finishes in top 10
Muhlenberg was ranked eighth and 10th, respectively, in the final D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association polls of the 2007 season.

Matt Johnson December 18: Johnson named to All-America team
Record-setting senior tight end Matt Johnson (left) was named a third-team All-Amercian by D3football.com.

Dustin Good December 10: Four earn regional honors
Three players and one coach on the Muhlenberg football team were honored by D3football.com, including senior linebacker Dustin Good (right), a second-team all-region selection.

Jim Jeffers December 7: Jeffers saluted for sportsmanship
Junior Jim Jeffers (left) was named to the Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.

Mike Donnelly December 4: Donnelly named coach of the year
After leading Muhlenberg to an undefeated regular season, Mike Donnelly (right) was named regional coach of the year by the American Football Coaches Association.

Jim Jeffers December 2: Seven named to Academic Honor Roll
Junior Joe Caporoso (left) was one of seven Muhlenberg football players named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the fall season.

Jordon Grube November 30: Grube named to Academic All-America team
Senior Jordon Grube (right) earned second-team Academic All-America honors.

November 24: Season ends with loss at Wesley
Muhlenberg suffered a 38-21 loss to Wesley in the second round of the NCAA playoffs. The Mules led, 7-0, for most of the first half, but the Wolverines scored late in the half and went ahead with two quick touchdowns at the start of the second half. Senior Matt Johnson caught seven passes for 128 yards in the last game of his career.

NCAA football championships November 23: Wesley game preview
Muhlenberg travels to Delaware to take on two-time defending regional champion Wesley in the second round of the NCAA playoffs.

November 19: Mules move to top of poll
The undefeated Muhlenberg football team is in a tie for first in the Lambert Meadowlands Poll, and two Mule players were honored by the Centennial Conference.

Edward DeRisi November 17: Muhlenberg advances to NCAA second round
Junior Edward DeRisi (right) scored the clinching touchdown on a 31-yard pass reception as Muhlenberg reached the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs with a 31-21 win against Salisbury. Up next for the Mules is Wesley.

The Mules host a high-scoring Salisbury squad in the first round of the NCAA playoffs.

Chris Musselman November 12: Mules lands 15 on All-CC squad
Senior Chris Musselman (right) was one of 15 Mules voted to the All-Centennial Conference squad. Musselman was a unanimous pick, making the first team for the second straight year.

Brandon Doyle November 11: Muhlenberg to host Salisbury in first round
Muhlenberg earned a home game in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Mules will host Salisbury on Saturday, November 17 ... Also, junior Brandon Doyle (left) was named Centennial Conference defensive player of the week.

Phil Cresta November 10: Mules wrap up perfect regular season
Sophomore Phil Cresta (right) caught five passes for a career-high 133 yards and one touchdown in the Mules’ 35-7 victory against Moravian. The win wrapped up an undefeated regular season, the first in 106 years of Muhlenberg football.

Patrick Calves November 7: Four earn district academic honors
Senior Patrick Calves (left) is one of four Muhlenberg football players selected to the Academic All-District team.

November 6: Mules into top 10
Muhlenberg is ranked in the top 10 in Division III for the first time.

November 4: Two honored by CC
Seniors Jordon Grube and Matt Johnson earned Centennial Conference player-of-the-week honors.

John Holenda November 3: MUHLENBERG WINS CC TITLE
Muhlenberg jumped out to a 17-0 halftime lead and went on to defeat Ursinus, 31-7, and clinch its first outright Centennial Conference title. Senior Matt Johnson and junior John DeLuca scored two touchdowns apiece, and senior John Holenda (right) recorded three tackles for loss.

October 30: Mules move up to No. 12
The Mules climbed to No. 12 in the Division III coaches poll, their highest national ranking ever.

Eric Santagato October 28: Santagato named player of the week
Junior Eric Santagato (left) was named Centennial Conference offensive player of the week for the second time in his career.

October 27: Muhlenberg comes from behind to keep perfect record
Senior Matt Johnson caught two touchdown passes, including the game-winner with 3:27 left, as Muhlenberg came from 17 points down to knock off Dickinson, 29-24, and stay undefeated.

October 25: Mules ranked by NCAA
Muhlenberg appears in the important NCAA committee rankings and among the Division III statistical leaders.

October 22: Muhlenberg moves into top 20
Muhlenberg is ranked in the top 20 in Division III for only the second time.

October 21: DeLuca earns player-of-the-week honors
Muhlenberg junior John DeLuca was named co-offensive player of the week by the Centennial Conference for the second time in three weeks.
