boyle named player of the week

For the third time in her career, junior Lauren Boyle of the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team was named player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Boyle averaged 20.7 points to lead the Mules to a 3-0 week, including wins against previously undefeated DeSales and Franklin & Marshall. She scored at least 20 points in all three games and made four free throws in the final 50 seconds to provide the winning margin in a 67-63 defeat of DeSales.

Despite starting out 1-for-11 against Haverford, Boyle shot 45.8 percent from the field for the week (53.2 percent in the last five halves). She also averaged 6.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals.

For the season, Boyle is fifth in the CC in scoring average (18.0 points per game) and free-throw percentage (.864). She is second on the Mules in assists and third in rebounding and steals.
